USAID – KAVES is a five year Agriculture program implemented by Fintrac Inc. The overall goal of the project is to increase the productivity and incomes of smallholders and other actors along the dairy, horticulture and staple crops value chains.
Our objectives include increasing competitiveness, introducing innovative technologies and building the capacity of local organizations and companies through strategic partnerships. Applications are invited for the following positions:One of USAID-KAVES objective is to create valuable market linkages, develop alternative business models that enable commodity buyers to buy locally, and expand private sector provision of services. To accomplish these objectives, the project requires comprehensive and up-to-date market information, including prices, volumes, and trends. 
The production of market analyses and pricing reports will assist USAID-KAVES and its partners to make informed decisions, and to provide accurate information to partners. For this to be achieved, we seek a Market Analyst to collect, analyze and collate past and present data on demographics, imports and exports, commodity prices, traded volumes and the competitive environment from existing private and public sources.

The United States Agency for International Development’s East Africa Mission (USAID / East Africa) seeks to fill the position of Accounts Payable Assistant in its Regional Financial Management Services (RFMS) Office.

The position is based in Nairobi and is open to qualified Kenyan citizens.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent serves as an Accounts Payable Assistant in the RFMS / Nairobi Office and is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services.

This includes processing and monitoring payments and expenditures and preparing and monitoring the payroll system.

Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that agency finances are accurate and up to date, that staffs are paid in a timely and appropriate manner and that vendors are paid within established time limits in accordance with the Prompt Payments Act (PPA).

RFMS USAID / East Africa requires the processing of payments for programs implemented in USAID / Kenya, USAID/East Africa (including, Djibouti, Burundi, and Somalia), Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI), Congo, USAID/DRC, and other countries supported by the office as needed.

The Accounts Payable Assistant examines and processes difficult and complex invoices and claims for payments against program funded contracts and grants used to implement Mission activities, as well as a operating expense funded vouchers such as contracts and travel vouchers.

In addition, the Accounts Payable Assistant shall review samples of selected documents from
contractors and grantees to manage and reduce USAID’s accountability risks.

Each Accounts Payable Assistant is expected to review, approve and pay in excess of $100 million each year. As a member of the RFMS, the incumbent ensures performance of assigned duties reflect well on RFMS and the Mission, and recognizes the importance of timely performance of responsibilities to enable all staff to meet the commitments of the Mission.

A USAID contractor is recruiting the following positions for an ongoing project focused on civic education, citizen engagement and community strengthening:

Grants Assistant: The grants assistant will be based in Nairobi and will assist in activities focused on youth empowerment in Eastleigh and surroundings.

All candidates must speak and write fluent Somali, Swahili and English. Experience working directly with youth at the grassroots level is required.

Candidates must have a solid understanding of Somali culture and customs, and must possess at least one year relevant experience in the administration of USAID or other donor-funded programs in East Africa, preferably in Kenya.

Finance Assistant: Based in either Eldoret or Kericho. Requires at least two years relevant experience in finance, accounting and/or bookkeeping, and must have experience working with USAID or other donor-funded programs in Kenya. Must be a Certified Public Accountant II.

Procurement Assistant: Based in Eldoret. Requires at least two years relevant experience in administration, procurement and/or logistics for USAID or other donor-funded programs in Kenya, preferably in and around Eldoret and/or Kericho.

Procurement Specialist: Various locations. Basic Function of the Position:

As the principal assistant to a lead Contracting/Agreement Officer with responsibility for East Africa Region programs, the incumbent shall be required to perform independently in a program requiring complicated and sensitive contracting operations.

Knowledge of the organization’s interested in, and capable of, performing USG contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, etc. Knowledge of the concerns from public voluntary organizations (PVOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), 8(a) firms, small businesses, and large businesses; and

(iv) a highly specialized knowledge in all phases of the procurement processes leading to award, particularly soliciting, reviewing of applications or proposals and contract award and administration procedures, providing technical advice in complex contractual arrangements to USAID client missions and host country officials; knowledge of program, project, or other commodity requirements. Knowledge of local market conditions and costs. Knowledge of U.S. Federal and Agency acquisitions a plus. Ability to work independently.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent negotiation skills to negotiate multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts and other instruments. Excellent analytical skills and sound judgment to select appropriate acquisition or assistance instrument types, to evaluate bids or offers and determine the responsibility of contractors on the basis of competition, historical costs, reports and to conduct cost and price analysis.

The Indiana University Center for Global Health is currently recruiting for a USAID - AMPATH Chief of Party position.

This is a full-time position based in Kenya. The COP’s primary role is to provide management and oversight for the USAID-AMPATH partnership, a comprehensive primary care and HIV control program in western Kenya serving a population of nearly 2 million people.
